Directions
1
Melt the coconut oil (or cocoa butter) gently over low heat or in 20-second microwave bursts. Do not overheat.
2
Whisk in the cocoa powder until smooth.
3
Stir in the sweetener, vanilla, and salt.
4
Pour the mixture into a silicone mold or parchment-lined loaf pan (if you don't have a silicone mold, muffin cups can be used as an alternative).
5
Chill in the fridge or freezer until firm, about 30-60 minutes.
6
Pop it out, break into bars or pieces, and store in the fridge.
Ingredients
0.5 cup organic cocoa powder (unsweetened)
0.25 cup organic coconut oil (or cocoa butter for a more traditional taste)
3 tablespoons raw honey, maple syrup, or sugar
0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
pinch salt
Equipment
bowl
spoon
silicone mold
muffin cups
loaf pan
Tips
Taste and adjust sweetness level to your liking.
Sprinkle any add-ins on top if desired.
Coconut oil melts easily at room temperature, so store in the fridge.
