Caramel Sauce

Directions

  1. 1Combine water and sugar in a pot, insert a thermometer, and bring to a boil.
  2. 2Add lemon juice to the boiling mixture.
  3. 3Once the mixture reaches 350 degrees, turn off the heat.
  4. 4Carefully stir in heavy cream, noting that the mixture will bubble up.
  5. 5Once the bubbling stops, add salt and mix well.
  6. 6Let the caramel cool before pouring it into a bottle for storage.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • Be very careful when adding heavy cream as it will pop.
