Directions
- 1Put 3/4 cup of butter on low heat on the stove.
- 2Let the butter bubble up.
- 3Wait until the butter turns a beautiful golden brown color.
- 4Take the browned butter off the heat.
- 5Add 1 cup of light brown sugar and 1/4 cup of white sugar to the butter.
- 6Mix the sugars and butter until just combined.
- 7Add 1 large egg yolk, 1 whole egg, and 1 tablespoon of vanilla.
- 8Mix until just combined.
- 9Add 1 3/4 cups of spooned and leveled all-purpose flour, 3/4 teaspoon baking soda, and 1 teaspoon salt.
- 10Mix until just combined.
- 11Add 2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips (or 8oz of chopped chocolate).
- 12Scoop the cookie dough into 2oz balls.
- 13Roll the cookie dough balls between your hands.
- 14Add a few more pieces of chocolate to the top of each cookie.
- 15Chill the cookies for at least 30 minutes.
- 16Cover the cookies and place them in the fridge.
- 17Bake at 350F for 11 to 12 minutes.
- 18Top your cookies with a little sea salt.
