Add half a stick of unsalted butter to a pan.

Add 4 tablespoons of all-purpose flour and cook for a few minutes to remove the raw flour taste.

Slowly add 3 cups of whole milk while whisking.

Add 16 ounces of white American cheese, 8 ounces of medium cheddar, and 8 ounces of sharp cheddar cheese. Stir until melted.

Add 1 pound of large elbow macaroni (cooked for 7 minutes).

Pour the mixture into an oven-safe dish.

Add a layer of crushed Cheez-Its.

Add a top layer of Cheddar Jack cheese.
