Add the salted butter to a bowl.

Add the powdered sugar.

Cream until smooth.

Add the vanilla extract.

Mix until well combined.

Add the all purpose flour.

Place the dough between baking paper.

Roll dough between baking paper until 1/4" thick.

Chill for 2 hours.

Use the cookie cutter to cut the cookies.

Chill 30 minutes.

Bake at 350 F/180 C for 10-12 minutes.

Cool completely.

1.5 cup powdered sugar/icing sugar
1 large egg (room temperature)
1.5 tsp vanilla extract
3.25 cup all purpose flour

Tips
Number of cookies will depend on cut out size and how thick you roll your dough.
For thinner cookies, roll out your dough to 1/8" and 1/4" for thicker cookies.
Bake thinner or smaller cookies for 8-10 minutes.
Measure your flour correctly. Adding too much flour will result to crumbly texture or sandy taste when baked.
Let your cookies cool completely before frosting them. If they are not cool, the icing will melt.
