Directions
- 1Add ground pork, salt, pepper, chopped large onion, spring onion, breadcrumbs, celery, small carrot, and a large egg to a bowl.
- 2Mix until well-combined.
- 3Form the mixture into meatballs.
- 4Dredge the meatballs in flour or cornstarch.
- 5Fry the meatballs for 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
- 6Flip the meatballs to cook both sides evenly.
- 7Remove the fried meatballs and set them aside.
- 8In a separate bowl, combine pineapple juice, ketchup, vinegar, soy sauce, sugar, salt, and pepper to make the sweet and sour sauce.
- 9Mix until well-combined and set aside.
- 10Heat oil in a pan.
- 11Add ginger and minced garlic to the pan.
- 12Add quartered large onion, small carrot, and chopped green and red bell peppers.
- 13Sauté for a few seconds.
- 14Add the sweet and sour sauce to the pan.
- 15Add water.
- 16Add slurry (1 tsp. cornstarch dissolved in 2 tbsp. water) to thicken the sauce.
- 17Simmer for 1 minute until the sauce slightly thickens.
- 18Add the fried meatballs to the sauce.
- 19Toss until the meatballs are fully coated with the sauce.
- 20Garnish with chopped spring onion.
