Directions
- 1Beat together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes).
- 2Add in the egg, vanilla extract and powdered sugar.
- 3In a separate bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt together.
- 4Gradually add it in until a dough has formed.
- 5Separate the dough into two equal parts. Add a few drops of red food colouring to one of the dough balls.
- 6Wrap both in a plastic wrap and let it chill in a fridge for 3 hours.
- 7After chilling, divide the entire dough into equal balls.
- 8Taking two different colour dough balls, roll them out and twist around each other.
- 9Shape them into a candy cane and place on a baking tray.
- 10Preheat the oven to 190 c and bake for 8-10 minutes
