Steak Frites with Mushroom Pan Sauce

Directions

  1. 1Season the steak with salt and pepper.
  2. 2Place the seasoned steak in a hot pan with oil.
  3. 3Add thyme and garlic to the pan with the steak.
  4. 4Flip the steak to cook on both sides.
  5. 5Check the internal temperature of the steak with a meat thermometer.
  6. 6Remove the cooked steak from the pan and let it rest wrapped in aluminum foil.
  7. 7Chop parsley and parmesan in a food processor.
  8. 8Transfer the parsley and parmesan mixture to a bowl.
  9. 9Sauté chopped red onions in the pan.
  10. 10Add chopped mushrooms to the pan with the onions and stir.
  11. 11Add garlic powder to the mushroom and onion mixture.
  12. 12Pour the juices from the rested steak into the pan sauce.
  13. 13Add cream to the pan sauce.
  14. 14Add Worcestershire sauce and salt to the pan sauce.
  15. 15Stir in chopped parsley into the pan sauce.
  16. 16Transfer fries to a bowl.
  17. 17Sprinkle the parsley and parmesan mixture over the fries and toss.
  18. 18Slice the rested steak.
  19. 19Spread the mushroom pan sauce on a plate.
  20. 20Place the sliced steak on top of the sauce.
