In a pressure cooker, add 1 cup of soaked chana (soaked overnight), 1 onion, 1 tomato, 1 tsp salt, and cook for 5 whistles.

Keep aside 1/4 cup of the cooked chana and add the balance to a pan.

For the kurma, grind together 3 garlic, 1 inch ginger, 1.5 tbsp roasted gram, 1 tsp fennel seeds, 1.5 tsp poppy seeds, 1/4 cup boiled chana, cinnamon, 2 cloves, and 1 cardamom.

Grind well and add this mixture to the pan with the chana.

Add a handful of mint and coriander and mix well.

Serve hot with pulka, roti, poori, or idiyappam.
