Chocolate frosting with melted butter

Directions

  1. 1Melt the butter on a stove top or in the microwave.
  2. 2Place the melted butter in the bowl of a stand mixer.
  3. 3Sift the cocoa powder into the butter and mix by hand with the whisk attachment to combine.
  4. 4Add the kosher salt to the mixture.
  5. 5Alternately add the powdered sugar and milk in increments, mixing after each addition.
  6. 6Scrape the bowl and add the vanilla extract, then mix to incorporate.
  7. 7Turn the mixer to medium speed and whip the frosting for 60 to 90 seconds to incorporate air and help it set.

Tips
