2
Blend the dried skins into a fine powder.

Combine 1 tbsp garlic powder with 4 tbsp salt to make garlic salt.
4
Add 1 tbsp dried mushroom powder to the garlic salt to make an umami seasoning.
5
Add 1 tbsp paprika, 1 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tbsp freshly cracked black pepper, and 1 tbsp chili powder to the garlic salt to make a barbecue rub.

4 tbsp salt
1 tbsp dried mushroom powder

Tips
Instead of oven-drying, skins can be air-dried overnight or using a dehydrator.
Garlic skins can be added to chicken stock or tossed on a fire for garlic-smoked grilled food.
Nutritional yeast, kombu, or dashi powders can be added to the umami seasoning for extra depth.
