Add all the soup ingredients to a pot.

Heat gently over low heat, stirring well.

Chill completely in the refrigerator.

Cook the somen according to the package instructions.

Rinse thoroughly under cold water and drain well.

Heat the sesame oil and cook the ground pork with the garlic.

Once cooked through, add the miso, sugar, and soy sauce.

Add the chilled soup and somen to a bowl, then top with the miso pork, green onions, and chili oil.

2 bundles somen noodle
180 g ground pork
1 whole garlic clove, minced
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tbsp miso
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp soy sauce
300 ml unsweetened soy milk
3 tbsp sesame paste
3 tbsp mentsuyu
1 tsp chicken bouillon powder
green onion (optional)
chili oil (optional)
