Cut slits along the back of the pork chops.

Use the back of the knife to flatten the pork chops.

Add minced garlic, oyster sauce, white pepper, five-spice powder, baking soda, and soy sauce to the pork chops.

Mix the pork chops with the seasonings and set aside for one hour.

Add an egg and cornstarch to the marinated pork chops.

Mix well until combined.

Coat each pork chop in tapioca starch.

Fry the pork chops for 4 to 5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
